A few weeks back I wrote on my blog that the Falcons' should do everything in their power to trade up and acquire wide receiver A.J. Green from UGA in this year's NFL Draft. The Falcons need defense, yes, but they need that explosive play as well.
So this morning I'm drinking my coffee and reading the Atlanta Journal Constitution sports, and what do I read? A columnist for the AJC writing how the Falcons' need to trade up to draft Green. The columnist was talking about how the team needs that 'WOW' factor, and Green can provide it. This kind of made me smile because I'm glad other people are thinking the same way I am. It would keep Green, who grew up in Georgia, playing ball here.
The article goes on to say that the article was forwarded to the Falcons' organization. By now, they either have the article, or have actually read it in the paper already.
Falcons would need to package a deal for Green, who is slated to either go fourth or fifth. Cincinnati Bengals hold the fourth pick, and Cleveland Browns the fifth. I hope you are listening general manager Thomas Dimitroff and head coach Mike Smith, Falcons' need that explosive player. Make that call Dimitroff to get Green playing his home games in the Georgia Dome.
