Falcons' stadium designs are in...

The Kansas City architecture firm 360 Architecture laid out two designs for the new Atlanta Falcons stadium yesterday, or should I say the two designs landed from outer space because at least one of the designs looks like a spaceship. The one intriguing thing that has been told is certain seats vibrate when the Falcons make a big hit on defense. The final design will be finalized spring 2014 with construction to begin soon thereafter. Take a look at the designs below.

My vote would be the first design because it still looks like a stadium. When the retractable roof is open, it truly is an open air stadium with a great view of downtown Atlanta. But of course, that might not be the angle you see of downtown.

The second design is a futuristic design that looks like a spaceship. I know a lot of people will like this design because of the look, but it looks too busy for me. It will not be a truly open air stadium from the looks. And the shadows would be very bad in this stadium. In this design there will be a big circular jumbotron circling the inside roof. This to me would be a distraction to the players. But who knows.

We now play the waiting game to see which design the Georgia World Congress Center and the Atlanta Falcons pick. Don't forget to follow me on twitter @makirkley.
