After starting the beginning of spring training games 0-3, the last three games have resulting all in W's for the Atlanta Braves. Younger (Justin) Upton brother already has a monsterous homerun and the elder (BJ) Upton brother is starting to hit as well. The opening day starting outfield took the day off yesterday as the Braves traveled to take on the Detroit Tigers in Lakeland, Fla. Just last week the Braves opened up spring training grapefruit league play as the Tigers downed the Braves 2-1 at the Braves training facility at Champion Stadium at ESPN's Wide World of Sports Complex in Kissimmee, Fla. Braves turned the favor on the Tigers yesterday by a 5-3 count as 3rd baseman Juan Francisco hit a three run homer and starting pitcher Tim Hudson went three strong inning giving up a pair of runs.
All is not bad for the beginning of spring training. I'm hoping this team shows all out this year like the Washington Nationals did last year, and hopefully run away with the NL East. Only time will tell. The Braves travel to Clearwater, Fla. and will play the Philadelphia Phillies today, game time set for 1:05pm est. Both Upton brothers and RF Jason Heyward expected to be in the lineup.
