Ratification in progress...

The countdown is among us!!!! The NFL is almost here!!!! The NFL office has sent memos to all 32 teams' that they want at least four top executives from each team to be present on this Thursday (7/21) in meetings in Atlanta. This would only be an indication that the end of the lockout is here. Why else would they want this? It has already been reported that all economic issues dealing with the splitting of the nine billion dollars has be agreed upon, as well as the new rookie scale and the lesser issues.

There are numerous tweets containing information from reliable NFL sources that the new collective bargaining agreement will be signed at this meeting, and a 90-minute education session explaining the new agreement to all the top executives. With the lockout ending, and say, teams can start to report to their team headquarters the following Monday, this will mean a non interruption of the 2011 season, including all the preseason games.

What would likely happen would be that on Monday through Wednesday of next week, rookies and veterans would report to camp, where OTA's would start and free agency would be held. This way, the rookies would be able to practice with the team without a contract. And all rookies and agents would be trying to get under contract as soon as possible. Then on Thursday (7/28) all training camps would be able to get under way without interruption. So let the excitement begin!!!!
