The Atlanta Braves are returning home after finishing a 4-2 roadtrip. The Braves finished strong by closing out the Seattle Mariners yesterday 5-3 to close out the sweep against the M's to improve their record to 47-35. Braves still seem to have games where they play up and down, but those games are few and far between right now. More games are beginning played with consistency, with the bats picking up speed to help with the awesome pitching that has been there all season. The only thing that has shocked me in recent days is set up man Jonny Venters. He has given up four runs in the last seven innings he has pitched. Last night giving up a two-run shot to Dustin Ackley in the bottom of the eighth. But no worries, no more damage done and closer Craig Kimbrel closed out the ninth with his 23rd save of the season.
Braves open a seven game homestand starting on Friday night when the Baltimore Orioles and Colorado Rockies come a calling.
