This morning the Atlanta Falcons General Manager Thomas Dimitroff was on the NFL Network show NFL AM talking about how the organization is going to have a long-term deal in place for QB Matt Ryan by the start of the season. Then it seemed that minutes later the Falcons Right Tackle Tyson Clabo was released. Hmmmm....was this en lue of trying to get a deal worked out for Ryan. Clabo was going to count for $4.5 million against the cap this year, so this saves a little money. The Falcons are currently about $2.5 million under the mandatory $123 million cap for the upcoming season. Dimitroff and Head Coach Mike Smith also must believe that 2012 draft choice RT Lamar Holmes is ready to be placed in the starting lineup.
Teams that might be a good fit for Clabo are the Miami Dolphins, Cincinnati Bengals, Jacksonville Jaguars, Arizona Cardinals, and the Detroit Lions.
With veteran Center Todd McClure retiring last month, this places a void on two key positions on the offensive line. Stay tuned to more updated.
