Atlanta Falcons Wide Receiver Brian Finneran and Defensive Back Brian Williams were released on Monday, March 1.
Longtime receiver Finneran, was a reliable possession man that had excellent hands. Later in his career with Atlanta, injuries took a toll on his body. Finneran was out of football both the 2006 and 2007 seasons. Finneran had his best season as a Falcon, earning 838 yards and catching 6 TD's in 2002.
Williams played his home games at the Georgia Dome both the 2009 and 2010 seasons. He was also with the Jacksonville Jaguars when Falcons Head Coach Mike Smith was Jacksonville's defensive coordinator. Williams had a injury plagued two years in Atlanta when he first injured his knee at home versus the Chicago Bears in 2009. He never really recovered and played sparingly during the 2010 campaign.
Thank you both to your contributions to the city of Atlanta and this football team.
