It could be worse...

President Rich McKay (L), GM Thomas Dimitroff (C), Owner Arthur Blank (R):Curtis Compton/AJC
With all the bickering and complaining that has been going on with the new Atlanta Falcons stadium, there is one thing that is true for the city of Atlanta. The city of Atlanta does want a new stadium, it is just coming up with how the funding is going to be played out that has been the issue. And now with the funding plan being approved earlier this week by the Atlanta City Council 11-4, the building will soon begin after some more hurdles have to be jumped. Eight hundred million will be funded by the team and $200 million by an Atlanta hotel/motel tax. Also, renovations in and around where the new stadium will be built have to be updated, and the area cleaned up. This is a promise by the Atlanta Falcons organization. With a new stadium, hosting a Super Bowl for the city of Atlanta should be in the horizon.

But it could be worst! According to NFL.com, the Miami Dolphins told city taxpayers on Thursday that they could back out of a $200 million renovation of Dolphins Stadium if they are not guaranteed hosting a Super Bowl. WOW, it has to be improved first before the NFL will even consider having the Super Bowl there. Yes, the weather is perfect, but the stadium has to be as well. This is just a slap in the face of Miami taxpayers. Oh, and by the why Miami Dolphins, why don't you put all your energy in trying to build a winning team first.

Thank you Mr. Blank, Mr. McKay, Mr. Dimitroff, and Mr. (Coach) Smith for being true professionals for trying to benefit the city and state first, and not just yourselves, and building a first-class team for Falcon fans to be brought of. There is no greed in this organization.
