It's baseball time now...

And that's a wrap on the 2012 football season. As much of an Atlanta Falcons fan that I am, I'm not sure we could have beaten the Baltimore Ravens this past Sunday if we would have played them. Every year there is one team that gets hot at the right time in the playoffs, and virtually unstoppable. That team this year was the Baltimore Ravens, and it showed as they hoisted the Lombardi Trophy.

And maybe it was karma that the San Francisco 49ers lost the game the same way that they won the NFC Championship game on a no call by the officials. This actually made me feel a little better after the game because I still felt that Atlanta should be playing for the Lombardi instead of San Fran. But I'm not going to whine about it like some people do. Get over it and move on to next season, that's my view.

So as we put this season to bed, at least for the next few months anyways, it's time to bring the Boys of Summer back as baseball is gearing up for spring training. I enjoy baseball, and it's my past time in between football season. I'm sure hoping the Upton brothers bring a spark back to Atlanta and can help carry this team to the next level and earn this city, state, and region their next World Series Trophy. Here's to hoping, right? Don't forget to follow me on twitter @makirkley.
