Wrap on the football season...

Well, it wasn't a good Sunday for the Falcons in the Championship Game versus the San Francisco 49ers. To tell you the truth, it wasn't a good day all around. Had a family emergency and didn't watch any football that day. Kind of glad I didn't see the game. After hearing the Falcons were up 17-0, then 24-14 at the half, they ended up not scoring one point in the second half. I hate to say this, but the way they played in the second half, guess they deserved to lose. In any sport, it's not how you start, but how you finish. The Falcons all year have started out fast, but always would linger in the second half to barely hang on. That happened way too many times over the course of this season. They are lucky that the ended the entire season (regular and playoffs) 14-4. The miracle happened in the Seattle game where where QB Matty Ice showed his comeback skills, then K Matty Ice showed off his foot. But that ride could only last so long, and it stalled when San Fran came to town.

So as I place a wrap on the 2012 season, it was an exciting season, but also too many high blood pressures from the way the team earned the W's over the course of the season. But too me, it was a disappointment because of the way the season ended. You shouldn't be up by 17, then 10, and can't hold the lead and then lose. This is still my team and I support them, but it was a disappointment. Time for me to get over this and look forward to the 2013 season.

Oh, and by the way, let's get this new stadium deal worked out because I want this team to stay in Atlanta. I'm for the motel/hotel tax for the city. Most people will not even realize it. I want this team to stay in Atlanta. I do not want to watch my team in LA or in any other city. Don't forget to follow me on twitter @makirkley.
