It's been a few weeks since I actually have been able to update my blog. But in reality, there are a lot of things going on, but not a lot for me to compile to put together that hasn't already been drowned by all the media outlets.
Some things good that are going on is the Atlanta Braves still show consistency as they have moved ahead of the Washington Nationals by 1/2 game for first place in the NL East. Braves enter today 24-15 while the Nats are 23-15. Philadelphia still hanging out at the bottom at 20-19. The entire NL East division is pretty strong with all teams having winning records so far. Last night pitcher Brandon Beachy pitched his first complete game shutout of his career, as he only gave up four hits. Beachy is turning into the present day Tom Glavine, John Smoltz, and Greg Maddux.
In football news, nothing really happening with the Atlanta Falcons. Players are in their offseason workout programs as they get ready for the upcoming season. And according to the Atlanta Falcons, QB Matt Ryan is beefing up for the 2012 campaign. But isn't that what they all say each and every year. And training camp won't get pumped up until late July.
And I don't write a lot about the Atlanta Hawks. NBA seems to be more about the entertainment factor, than a sport in my opinion. The Hawks ended the season as they have the last four seasons, losing in the playoffs just to watch the NBA Finals in the comforts of their homes. The Boston Celtics beat the Hawks four games to one in the first round this year. The Hawks are consistently mediocre, and apparently top management is okay with that. If it was me, I would be very upset and try to make a change for the better. But that's why I write and not manage.
Okay, so maybe I did get a pretty good post out of this. Keep checking back for further posts, and don't forget to follow me on twitter @makirkley.
