The start of the Braves season hasn't gotten off to the best of starts for Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez, or for Braves fans for that matter. Swept the first series of the season by the New York Mets in the Big Apple, then traveled to Houston to open a three game set with the Astros, but loss game one of that series.

So enter future Braves Hall of Famer 3B Chipper Jones back to the lineup for his first game that counts in the record books. Jones has already announced his retirement at the end of this season. Jones is coming of the DL again from another knee injury, but looked healthy enough last night as he helped lift the Braves (1-4) to a 6-4 victory in Houston. Jones started the game in his first at bat singling up the middle, and later belted a 2-run blast to right field. Braves also received production from their rookie shortstop Tyler Pastornicky, as he homered for his first homerun of his career. Reliever Craig Kimbrel pitched strong in the ninth to record his first save as starter Tommy Hanson (1-1) picked up his first win on six hits and giving up two runs.

I won't be writing a lot of game to game write ups on the Braves during the season because it can be repetitive. But I will be writing on the team if something special or even something major happens with the team. Just thinking I will write on this game because it's first win of the early season.
